KDE 4.0

Unless you don't use linux, or you've been hiding under a rock for awhile, you probably know that KDE 4.0 has been released. I downloaded both the kubuntu and opensuse KDE 4.0 live CD's, and tried them on my laptop. It is a Toshiba U205, which has very good linux support, and doesn't need any propriety drivers to function well, as it contains an intel graphics card and intel wireless card. My impressions of KDE 4.0 are that it looks very, very nice, and that plasma is incredible, but it isn't ready yet, for me at least, as the configurability KDE is known for is not finished yet, i.e. the panel can't be resized. Also, quite a few KDE apps haven't been ported over to qt 4 yet. As soon as 4.1 is released, I plan to switch to it. Congratulations and a hearty thanks to all of the KDE team and contributors for doing such a great job!

Intro

Hello, my name is Raffi. I'm a 15-year-old who uses linux, and this blog will be focused on linux. Currently, I use Sabayon and KDE, so most stuff will be coming from the perspective of a KDE user. I have a Nokia N810, and most posts, (including this one), will be made from it. I'm new to blogging, but I hope that I can get used to it, and maybe have a somewhat interesting blog.
